Praise for Sicce Calanus

by John Tullock

I just received the following email from Leah Wood, assistant manager at Aquarium of Knoxville:

“Sicce has provided us with another revolutionary aquarium product! Recently, they launched Calanus Marine Zooplankton, a food containing 100% natural copepods harvested from the Arctic Ocean. Calanus contains no preservatives. It will keep in its dehydrated form sitting on a shelf for many months, but once rehydrated, it must be stored in the refrigerator between feedings. We've had great results with the food at the store, and have recommended it widely.  The number one question we are asked is, ‘How do I feed it?’

“Ask no more! Here is our simple procedure for rehydrating and feeding Sicce Calanus”

1. Measure 1/8 teaspoon of Calanus powder and mix with 8 ounces of reverse osmosis water.

2. Add Sicce HyperGarlic or S.E.L.C.O. Boost to the mixture.

3. Feed using a syringe, pipette, or Julian's Thing. Adjust the amount and frequency of feeding to your aquarium's individual needs.

4. Store the mixture in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2 weeks to ensure the copepods remain appetizing to your aquarium’s inhabitants.

Thanks, Leah, for your note. Calanus truly is a revolutionary advance in reef tank feeding, and we will no doubt be hearing more about this great product in the future.
